One of the initiatives that the New York Central System Historical Society is introducing for 2012 is a discount for recruiting new members. We believe that this program will inspire members to talk about the NYCS and the Society to potential new members in order to obtain a discount on their own memberships. It is just one of several initiatives we will be introducing to increase membership in the Society.
This program offers a $10.00 discount to any member who signs up two new members during the 2012 membership year. The discount would apply to the 2013 membership fee of the member who recruited the required number of new members.
The new member’s membership form has been modified to include a line where new applicants can designate the name of the member who referred them. Current members can use this form when they recruit a new member. They should fill in that line on the form to be sure that they received credit for the referral.
We hope that this program will encourage members to seek out new members to join our exciting Society. The NYCSHS is dedicated to perpetuating the legacy of the New York Central System through the acquisition and preservation of all things related to the NYCS.
We will keep records of the names of members who sign up the new members and will apply the $10 discount to their membership for 2013.
Note: This program does not apply for members of the NYCSHS Board of Directors whose job it is to recruit for the Society as part of their regular duties.
