The Society's 1998 calendar is still available. Our calendar honors Howard Fogg, called the greatest railroad artist of our time by Trains magazine. Howard Fogg passed away at the age of 79 on October 1, 1996. The New York Central System was well represented among Howard Fogg's works. While president of the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie, John W. Barriger commissioned numerous paintings by Howard Fogg, 64 of which were published in a portfolio Along The Right Of Way in 1964. Other paintings of New York Central subjects were rendered for the American Locomotive Company, W. H. Miner Co and for private individuals. On the front cover shows Niagara class S-1a 6000, eastbound along the Hudson River, where our back cover shows two Alco freight units eastbound at Annsville Creek drawbridge, also along the Hudson.
