2001 NYCSHS Calendar

The Society's 2001 calendar is still available. Once again our calendar features paintings by the late Howard Fogg, and which were part of the collection gathered and published by the late John W. Barriger when he was the president of the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie. On the cover the is New York Central DRS-14a GP-35 at the head of a multi level train. This painting was featured on the cover of the 1963 New York Central annual report. On the back cover is Berkshire Hills Milk Run featuring DRSP-2 RS-2 8211 picking up two milk cars.

2000 NYCSHS Calendar

Barriger when he was the president of the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie. On the cover the is New York Central train # 12, the "Southwestern Limited" at Staatsburg, NY DPA-2a PA-1 4201 leads the train. On the back cover is A-2a 9401 built for the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie in 1948, one of seven locomotives in what was the last steam order for both Alco and the New York Central.

1999 NYCSHS Calendar

The Society's 1999 calendar is still available. Our calendar features paintings by Ted Rose and used with his permission and through the good offices of member Don Wetzel. On the cover is "Almost Home" showing class J-1e 5344, perhaps the best known New York Central Hudson, passing BE Tower at Berea, Ohio. On the back cover is "Water Level Route" showing a Mohawk leading a freight along the Hudson River on a foggy morning.

1998 NYCSHS Calendar

The Society's 1998 calendar is still available. Our calendar honors Howard Fogg, called the greatest railroad artist of our time by Trains magazine. Howard Fogg passed away at the age of 79 on October 1, 1996. The New York Central System was well represented among Howard Fogg's works. While president of the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie, John W. Barriger commissioned numerous paintings by Howard Fogg, 64 of which were published in a portfolio Along The Right Of Way in 1964. Other paintings of New York Central subjects were rendered for the American Locomotive Company, W. H. Miner Co and for private individuals. On the front cover shows Niagara class S-1a 6000, eastbound along the Hudson River, where our back cover shows two Alco freight units eastbound at Annsville Creek drawbridge, also along the Hudson.
